One Life

‘One Life’ tells the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton, played by Johnny Flynn, who along with the British Committee for Refugees in Czechoslovakia, rescued 669 children from the Nazis in the months leading up to World War II. The work of the BCRC went largely forgotten until Nicky (played by Anthony Hopkins) rediscovered his scrapbook in 1988 and the story came to light.

It was a really special project for me to work on, as my own grandmother came to the UK on the kindertransport from Austria in 1939. I can't imagine I'll ever get another chance to work on a film with such a personal connection. It was also my first time co-leading a graphics team, with teams in 2 countries, and on top of all of it, the whole story was driven by a hero prop - Nicholas Winton's scrapbook.
